THE GREATEST SWINDLE OF ALL

Amanda Wells has practically built a ministry around her story of dying on the operating table in the 1990’s, going to Heaven and having a conversation with God!

From:  https://answersingenesis.org/reviews/books/are-visits-to-heaven-for-real/

There is simply no reason to believe anyone who claims to have gone to heaven and returned. John 3:13 says, “No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.” And John 1:18 says, “No one has seen God at any time.”

Four biblical authors had visions of heaven—not near-death experiences. Isaiah and Ezekiel (Old Testament prophets) and Paul and John (New Testament apostles) all had such visions. Two other biblical figures—Micaiah and Stephen—got glimpses of heaven, but what they saw is merely mentioned, not described (2 Chronicles 18:18Acts 7:55).

Only three of these men later wrote about what they saw—and the details they gave were comparatively sparse (Isaiah 6:1–4Ezekiel 1, 10Revelation 4–6). All of them focused properly on God’s glory. They also mentioned their own fear and shame in the presence of such glory. They had nothing to say about the mundane features that are so prominent in modern tales about heaven (things like picnics, games, juvenile attractions, familiar faces, odd conversations, and so on). Paul gave no actual description of heaven but simply said what he saw would be unlawful to utter. In short, the biblical descriptions of heaven could hardly be any more different from today’s fanciful stories about heaven.

Far too much of the present interest in heaven, angels, and the afterlife stems from carnal curiosity. Those who demand to know more than Scripture tells us about heaven are sinning: “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever” (Deuteronomy 29:29

But no matter how much they might obsess over what heaven is like, people who fill their heads with a lot of fantastic or delusional ideas from others’ near-death experiences have not truly set their minds on things above. If the inerrant biblical truth God has given us is the only reliable knowledge about heaven we have access to (and it is), then that is what should grip our hearts and minds, not the dreams and speculations of human minds.”

Wells describes in considerable detail her regular visits to Heaven in her talks to gullible church congregations. What an extraordinary thing it is that in all the encounters Wells claims to have had with God, including this particular instance of her alleged visit while on the operating table
in the 1990’s, God never seems to mention to her anything regarding her sins – but focuses instead on her using her “gifts”. Given the prolific amount of lies and plagiarism of which this woman has now been shown to be guilty, it is somewhat astounding that the God we know from the Bible would have been more interested in her ability to plagiarise for so long without being caught than he would have been in the fact that she was stealing other’s people’s material and profiting from it.

The problem is that the claims she has made concerning this alleged 1990’s event are in many respects totally fraudulent and have been added to over the years. The story has now reached such grandiose proportions as to defy even any rational person who has been previously been sucked into Wells’ abyss of delusion, to not begin to ask questions.

Hearing this story related on several different videos, we first became alerted to the fact these events merited further investigation because the description of the surgery appeared to change over the years. “Transplant surgery” became “Major Transplant surgery” and eventually morphed into “Double Major Transplant surgery” but with all the seemingly irrelevant detail attached to the claims, never once did Wells refer to exactly what “organs” had been transplanted.  And so, we began to look closer at this incredible story. (N.B. In the video link below you can watch Wells indicate with her hand the lower half of her torso where she alleges she had these 600 stiches.)

As a result, we now have questions for Wells to answer over this outrageous tale and expect that any person who has been so gullible as to have been taken in by this fantasy over the years and yet still considers to be reasonably sane, will be looking forward to receiving those answers to these questions themselves.

Amanda Wells, why are you claiming that you had MAJOR TRANSPLANT SURGERY when our research has uncovered the fact that there was NO donor, or in fact ANY other individual, involved in the surgery as the description “transplant surgery” infers?

From the Medical Dictionary:  Transplant surgery is the surgical removal of an organ(s), tissue, or blood products from a donor and surgically placing or infusing them into a recipient.

And from Wikipedia:

Organ transplantation – Wikipedia

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organ_transplantation

Organ transplantation is a medical procedure in which an organ is removed from one body and placed in the body of a recipient, to replace a damaged or missing organ.

Was there are recipient or donor involved in your surgery Amanda Wells? Information from someone who claims to have attended church with Wells during those years refutes this vastly misleading description of her surgery.

Wells claims to have had a “double transplant”.  Please name the TWO organs you claim were involved in this surgery, Amanda Wells.  How does Wells define a “double   transplant” in her own vivid imagination?  Is the fact that the surgeon used both his hands enough for her to make such a claim?  Given most of her outlandish stories, it seems that this is entirely possible.   Since Wells has traded off this story for so many years and given that the narrative has changed so much over time, perhaps Amanda Wells might now publish medical proof to back her claims concerned with this story.

Did you really die on the operating table Amanda Wells?  You will not have any problem publishing your medical records if this is the case.  Amanda Wells claims that she “bled out” on the operating table.  She claims that the doctor who operated on her told her that she had  “bled out” on the table due to the  mistakes made by the eminent Professor who operated on her.

bleed out (third-person singular simple present bleeds outpresent participle bleeding outsimple past and past participle bled out)

To DIE due to excess bloodloss; to BLEED TO DEATH.

Has Amanda Wells been watching too much CSI?

Hear this absurd story beginning at 1:03:05

Amanda Wells claims that the Professor who operated on her made a few critical and life-threatening  mistakes during the operation! Is this yet another case of Wells maligning someone who is unable to defend himself?  Did any medical staff report this problem?

Amanda Wells claimed in a talk to a Women Conference in 2015,  that the Professor who operated on her told her that the nurses in the operating theatre FAINTED when she allegedly sat up whilst still on the operating  table. (See video link above.)  However, when giving an interview to Charisma Magazine she did not make this claim and instead claimed that the Doctor who operated told her “she scared the tripe out of every nurse).  The story, as is usually the case with pathological liars,  is growing in ridiculous detail as the years go on and Wells requires more and more attention.  Wells, claims to have been laying on her side during the operation and with 600 stitches newly inserted into her body, she allegedly sat up and raised her arms and put her hand around the throat of the operating doctor! Hmmmmm…….

What a weak-kneed bunch of medical pansies must have been on duty that day!  It sounds like utter chaos in the operating theatre of the particular hospital involved.  Certainly, such details would be have been noted on medical notes, Wells, so feel free to back up your claim with medical records of the surgery.

Amanda wells claims to have had have 600 stitches as a result of the surgery.  Proof of the count Wells please?

Amanda Wells claims the operation took 10 hours. Medical verification please Wells.

Wells has claimed over the years to have consulted 95 doctors! The claim speaks for itself.

Wells claims to have had a “double transplant”.  How does she define a “double transplant”?

Wells claims in the video link above:

When she saw the professor in the ICU (recovery) she called out, “Oy! Ian! come here!”  What amazing capacity for recovery Wells displays in being able to be shouting out to someone upon regaining consciousness after such asserted serious surgery.    In Christian Women’s Magazine Wells relates this story somewhat differently, instead claiming she said much more politely, when she saw him “I want to talk to you.”

Below is an Amanda Wells interview in the Christian Women’s Magazine where she again refers to her story of dying on the operating table:

Christian Woman.jpg

CHRISTIAN WOMENS MAGAZINE #2.jpg

*The bottom of this article has the transcription of the two above pictures from the Christian Women’s Magazine.*

In Christian Women’s Magazine, Wells claims that the Professor stated to her that “They had cut my abdominal.  They made quite a few mistakes’.  (Abdominal what? A Doctor claiming to have made mistakes?  Hhhmmmm…….)

Then in an amazing display of admission of surgical “mistakes”…….

The professor said to her:

“I nicked your abdominal aorta.  You bled out.”

“I also thrombosed your kidney.”

“I punctured your bladder”.

She then asserts that the Professor claims that then he saw the aorta “stop bleeding”, and it gave him enough time to “get her back”.  But wait……didn’t she just say she had already “bled out”!!!!

At around 1:09:16 on the video Wells claims that she had FIVE tubes in her “central line” indicating her neck area as she points to it with her hand………… then she indicates her mid-torso area and claims she had “about five tubes here” due to mistakes the medical staff had made!.  Now, by our arithmetic that amounts to TEN tubes altogether!  In the earlier interview she did with Christian Women’s magazine (much closer in time to the stated events), Wells claims “I had about four drainage tubes……….”  One can only wonder at what the number of tubes will rise to should Wells continue to be permitted to relate this fanciful tale.

As Wells continues with her fanciful story and at 1.07:27 you will hear her actually claim that the Jesus she serves is an impotent Jesus who claims that He is unable to let her stay because “they won’t let you”. Presumably she is referring to those who were praying for her.

She claimed she had an epidural in for about 24 hours? And about 5 tubes in her mid-section due to “all the mistakes they [medical profesion] had made”

At 1:10:10 on the tape you will hear Wells claim that five days later she was playing table tennis with the youth from [the church].

At 1:10:20 Wells claims she has had a “double transplant” and states as if it was some    huge miracle that she is on “no anti-rejection drugs whatsoever”. WHY WOULD ANYONE WHO DID NOT RECEIVE AN ORGAN FROM ANY DONOR NEED ANTI-REJECTION DRUGS!   The claim is correct but the intent is duplicitous and disgraceful intending, to lead people to continue to be under the illusion that Wells received an organ from another donor.  To use this story to promote herself as some sort of walking miracle Wells insults every person who has indeed been the donor or the recipient of life-saving organ transplant surgery by peddling such a concoction of lies.  She goes on to claim that she hasn’t “been to her kidney doctor since 2004”.  Now, she has let the cat out of the bag and mentioned that this surgery involved a “kidney”.  The surgery may have indeed involved her “kidney” but it most certainly did not involve any kidney from any donor….. Wells has questions to answer since she has traded off this story very successfully and elicited much sympathy and gained much attention from it for many years.  She claims that she has not returned to her kidney doctor because she considered it a “waste of money since all he ever did was to tell her to lose weight”!  Or was it Wells, that there was no medical reason for you to return to the doctor anymore as no on-going treatment was required which might have been required had you indeed had undergone a “major double transplant” procedure?

Now note, that in her interview for Christian Women’s Magazine, Wells claims that she was out of hospital on the 6th day and played ping pong at church on the seventh day”! Wells story, as with all pathological lying, alters considerably every time she relates a story.  (Read further references on this site to Pathological lying).  In this case, she has herself playing table tennis complete with 600 stitches still in her body, now only five days out of hospital where she had previously claimed (in her magazine article) that it was seven.  Such an important detail would not be forgotten over time unless someone was playing fast and loose with the truth. The adrenalin rush pathological liars receive from telling their stories compels them to continually make their stories more dramatic.

A “major double transplant” surgery, with 600 stitches allegedly still in your body Wells and yet you were playing table tennis 5 days later?  And not once through the telling of this fantasy story, and the constant change of details over the years, did anyone ever question the voracity of the tale?  Amazing.  Of course, Wells and those of her ilk, don’t have to prove their stories to naïve listeners; they simply claim it was a miracle and all God’s doing and of course, no one wants to be seen questioning that; somewhat akin to the gullible people being afraid to question the emperor in the fairy tale of “The Emperor’s New Clothes”.  However, if indeed all these facts were true (choose whatever versions you most like!) then Wells would not be at all afraid to produce irrefutable medical evidence because we are not afraid to ask for that.  The Bible instructs us to check all things!

Note also in the article on Christian Women’s magazine Wells claims that when she visited Heaven, “ on my right-hand side was a throne……I couldn’t actually see the throne but ….  I saw the water….”.  So now she claims there was a throne but she didn’t actually see it.   If she didn’t see the throne, how did she know it was there on her right-hand side?  Of course, in listening to her describe this in her own words, one will notice a bit of fumbling and hesitation as she tries to get her story to make sense.  And then Wells claims Jesus was on her “left hand-side”… so, she places herself between Jesus and his throne?   And yet she did not actually see this throne – only “water”. The delusion is not even presented in any logical way.

The diabolical claims such as this one and others made by the fake teachers and prophets who do so with the express purpose of fooling and fleecing naïve people are responsible for sometimes irreparable damage to the delicate faith of many in the Body of Christ.

*Christian Women’s Magazine transcription:

AMANDA WELLS is one dynamic lady. She has many ‘irons in the fire’ and wants to accomplish so much in her life. We have met several times and it’s always inspiring to talk to her. I’m not sure who talks more – Amanda or me-because we have a lot in common – talking about business and ministry and there is always a lot to fit in, in the short time we spend together. But, it’s always interesting and I love an in-depth conversation!

I spoke to Amanda about her ministry and also, importantly, the time she died on the operating table and spoke to Jesus. This has been the driving force behind her busy timetable.

Amanda – your life is particulary busy  – tell me about the ministry you are involved in.

I have been in an itinerant ministry for about 20 years now. I have been in ministry to local churches here in Australia and around the world – particularly in Europe, Canada, and New Zealand. I have been to America and Africa, but I feel my passion is Europe. I have also spoken at conferences. I have started some humanitarian organizations as well. I have also gone into a business side as well. Now I am coaching, particularly Christians, who are feeling they have something inside them – a dream a destiny, but are unable to fulfill it – the coaching is called ‘Passion to Purpose to Product in 90 days’. Seeing Christians just come out of themselves after being coached, and doing what God says has really been blessing me.

I particularly want to talk about when you went into hospital to have an operation and you died on the table and how this has driven you to accomplish all God has for you.

It was in 1995 – I had been sick for quite some time. I had a very rare kidney disease and I was dying. I was only about 35 kilos at the time. I was in the intensive care part of the transplant unit in Brisbane. I decided that if I didn’t have the operation I could possibly die. I did have the operation, it was a massive operation and it had only been done once before. So, we had decided to go ahead and it was a 10 hour operation where they took my kidney and transplanted it within me because of the rare syndrome.

At one point on the operating table I remember being in heaven and it was a very profound moment and it has really crystalized my life since then. As I was there I remember seeing so much. I remember seeing the colours, the water and Jesus was on my left hand side and he looked into my eyes and I will never forget the love that he had, but also how he saw everything about me. Jesus was on my left hand side, he was dressed in white, but it was so white that it honestly looked like light. It is so true he is dressed in light! I took more notice of His eyes; they were piercing, yet were like pools of love. Even though those eyes seemed to know all my yesterdays and my tomorrows and knew me inside out, the love in those eyes was immeasurable.

Heaven was full of life. The colours were beyond what we see here. From the throne it seemed were colours in flashing light. The water that flowed was amazing!

As you walk on the grass in heaven it doesn’t flatten as it does on earth. There in constant sound in heaven; some I did not totally comprehend. It was worship but beyond what I had ever heard.

Everything in heaven responds to honour the King. Everything, every living thing.

Authority in Heaven is quite amazing. I do not believe we have had a revelation of authority and honour as it is in Heaven.

At that point he had said to me these words: “What have you done with the gift of life – what have I done with my life that he has given me. I didn’t answer, because there was no real answer, because there was no real answer. At that point I heard two prayer: I hear the prayer of my pastor as he prayed in the spirit and I knew what he was saying and it was like heaven was at attention when he prayed. The authority that happens in heaven, the dominion that we have where it says, “I have given you dominion under the earth, on the earth and above the earth” – it just blew me away. That this is the one area that churches really do fight against – praying in the spirit, But there is power in this.

The other voice was my doctor, who was a Christian. He was calling me back. I knew exactly what he said. The one voice I didn’t hear was my husband’s, but I did say to him later, “I hope you were praying for me,” I said laughingly.

I remember waking up in recovery – I called my doctor over who was a professor and I said to him, “I want to speak to you.”

He said, “I want to speak to you, but I will speak to you tomorrow when you are fully awake.”

So, he walked in very early the next morning and he said, “I want to talk to you about what happened.”

I said, “I want to tell you first what happened.” I talked to him about my encounter. I said to him, “This was the prayer that you prayed during the operation.”

He said, “That was word for word what I said. Now let me tell you what happened.” They had cut my abdominal, It was a mess! They made quite a few mistakes. He said he almost saw the hand of God just stop the flow of blood. It was a real panic and there was an emergency. They got me back and they stitched me up. He explained, “You have to remember that you had 600 stitches inside and out.” I looked like Jaws. He continued, “We had an epidural in your back which was to stop the pain and movement for a few days.” I had IV’; I had about four drainage tubes. “I called you back, got you stitched up, finished the operation, we took the tube out and as we did you sat bold upright on the operating table, grabbed me around the throat and screamed at me, ‘What did you call me back for?’ He said, “You terrified me and scared the tripe out of every nurse.”

It was such a profound experience of heaven – when Jesus said to me, “What have you done with the life I have given you?” I know I cannot die again – I will not go home until I fulfil everything he has asked me to fulfil.”

In heaven, on my right hand side was a throne – I couldnt’ actually see the throne, but I saw ….. I saw the water. I just knew that if I could get into that water I would be okay. Under the water there were so many beautiful jewels – I cannot explain all this. There were some personal things that Jesus actually did for me, especially with the jewels. I saw some angels but the beauty of heaven! I was a mother of three children at that point and I did not want to come back. It really showed me we need to get someone soon enough when we want to resurrect them. Once you get them into heaven they don’t want to come back. If you’ve got them in hell the enemy has got a hold on them. That’s why it’s so important that we pray immediately when someone has died, to grab them quickly. To me it was just an answer as to why we can’t raise the dead when we are told we can. That may be part of the answer – they are in there, they are not coming back. One thing the Lord said to me, “They will not let you.” However, I had not fulfilled things that I should have fulfilled – I knew I had to come back. Others may not care.

In heaven the colours are incredible – the sky just goes on to eternity. Our sky hides us from heaven. I want to go back when I can say to my Lord and Saviour, “I did everything you called me to do. I empty myself; I am giving myself to you.”

Your situation in heaven and what God spoke to you about has had a profound effect on your ministry now?

Yes, a profound effect. I should say there is a story as to why. I got offended and I was really hurt. That offence built up – it was an offence in church. At that time we lost everything. We had a master franchise business and the fanchisor took  off with almost $1 million – we lost everything. We had to sell everything – we had to sell our cars, we had to sell the house. If there had been e-bay at the time I probably would have sold the kids!

i got angry, I got hurt and I got offended. That is I believe, what actually caused me to get as sick as I did. One thing in my life – I will not get offended anymore. The days of the operation I said to the Lord, “Forgive me.” I needed to repent. After that massive operation I was out of hospital in six days. I played ping pong at church on the seventh day! God really touched me. I remember standing, crying in the bathroom of my hospital ward. I looked at the scar and just cried. The Lord just so sweetly said to me, “Warriors have scars.” Yes, this was a war, most of it was my own doing, but I have won a war over offense that will never get me again.

What is the main theme of your voice to the people – particularly to women?

It is to meet their destiny. There are so many things women have that they just don’t tap into – they get busy. As women, that’s who we are – we start fulfilling everyone else’s needs but we don’t meet our own. I am a mum, I have three children, I have a grandchild, a business, and I minister and I do all this well. You can do it.

The other thing: so many women have prophetic words and never see them come to pass. That’s part of my passion, to work through those prophetic words so they do come to pass. Right now I am doing a program with Caroline Marsh from the UK, who is a millionaire – she is a wonderful Christian and one of the UK’s wealthiest women. We are now working on a program where we are going to help women particularly come into their total full potential and break that glass ceiling that particularly is on women in Australia and Europe.

How do you see the importance of women in business and ministry?

I think they are imperative. If we look at history – women have taken the world out of nearly every crisis that it has ever been in. You go back and look at Debra, look at Esther, Ruth – right through the Bible. Then we go back and look at World War I and when the men came home broken emotionally and physically it was the women who really got the world back and financially got the family back together. It was the same with the women in World War II and just recently we have seen in England, David Cameron, the Prime Minister, actually put a call out for women in rise up and be entrepreneurs and he is giving them 15,000 pounds to start businesses. He even recognizes that women have such an effect on the economy that we can actually change the world. I think women need to understand this. We are born to be nation changers.

What would you say to women now?

One of the biggest things with women is we tend to become complacent. We look at everybody else’s needs. I would say to take time out to get with God and ask him, “What is the life you have given me? What’s in my heart?” Really do some hard questions yourself. Ask, “What is my passion?” Then don’t stop until you get God’s process of how you can fulfil your destiny. And don’t let other people put you down. You’ve got to be your own best cheerleader. When you get up in the morning tell yourself how awesome you are and what a great person you are. You can do it! One woman in my coaching class wanted to be a doctor and she was 40 – she has now just gone into medicine. It doesn’t matter how old you are or what the world has said, when God puts something in your life, no man, no woman; nothing can stop you except yourself.
